While a traditional crystal chandelier can look at home in almost any setting if you want to go in for an ornate wrought iron chandelier or perhaps a contemporary one it is important to first determine that such a design will match your home décor. Remember while choosing a chandelier style you want to go in for one that matches your décor and not contrasts with it. In addition to the above ease of cleaning number of bulbs (depending on how much lighting you require) and your budget are the other factors to consider when choosing a chandelier.
Bead-shell chandeliers are popular contemporary chandelier fixtures designed from beads and shells. The most common type of shell used for such chandelier pieces is the Capiz shell which is commonly referred to as mother-of-pearl shell. Bead-shell chandeliers often emit soft lights which makes them more preferable to be used in fine dining restaurants. They are also commonly fixated near pictures and paintings to highlight these interior elements.
Contemporary Chandelier Lighting - Many contemporary chandeliers don`t have the branched arms we think of in a classic lighting chandelier. Instead they have a central support holding up a central lighted area. This is typical of an art deco or craftsman style chandelier. Modern chandelier lighting with a central support are typically called pendant chandeliers. They can come in all sizes and shapes from mini chandeliers to streamlined steel.
Chandeliers are ornamental or decorative light fixtures that are used for ceiling lighting. Usually chandeliers are centerpieces in big halls churches public galleries palaces hotels mansions etc. Common residential houses also have cheap chandeliers in the living room which are simpler versions of the chandeliers and are not as extravagant as the ones seen in public and commercial buildings. Chandeliers can be lit up with candle lights incandescent lights and also by energy saving bulbs.
You can use a chandelier in almost any room since there are countless styles from which to choose from. For example the Schonbek crystal chandeliers or others dating back to the 16th century are ageless and enduring. These fixtures have withstood the test of time. Since then many other styles have evolved and are equally as impressive. Most modern fixture designs manage to offer both a nod to the past while fitting seamlessly into the decors and designs of present-day.
Black Chandelier Lighting - Many of the old chandeliers were made of iron but could be very heavy which wasn`t so much of a problem since houses were built with large central beams that could support the weight. The black iron look can also be imitated with bronze or brass that is weathered chemically although it doesn`t look exactly the same. A chandelier made of iron can be very contemporary looking even though it has it`s roots in antiquity. Another option is a chandelier made from black glass crystal. It won`t refract the light like a typical crystal chandelier but it can add a sleek modern look to a room.
